CitrusBits is in the process of expanding in Pakistan and recently onboarded an experienced CEO and now building a leadership team to expand its team of 80 people in Pakistan. To handle the expansion, it has also acquired a dedicated office building in Islamabad with over 25,000 sq feet and currently building out the new office space.
Job Summary
We are looking for a Head of Engineering for CitrusBits Pakistan. The incumbent must have demonstrated experience in leading agile software development teams with a focus on efficiency, scalability, and quality. People with a proven track record of scaling a technology team efficiently preferably at a C level or as Head of Engineering will be preferred.
The incumbent will be leading the engineering team by supervising a team of engineering and QA managers, working with onsite and offsite product owners, sales teams, clients, and technology partners. Our engineering team works in Pakistan hours, but our engineering leadership has to attend necessary conversations with management, sales team, and clients in the US Pacific morning times.
The role includes delivering high-quality products that scale to millions of users, applying new industry trends, and challenging your peers to deliver results. Qualified candidates will be results-oriented, self-driven, and possess the ability to successfully prioritize and execute several tasks at any given time.
Roles & Responsibilities
• Develop and execute engineering aspects of the company’s strategy to ensure alignment with its business goals
• Architect technology products and platforms to handle anticipated growth and scalability
• Manage and inspire a multi-disciplinary team
• Build new teams, retention of teams, and growth
• Create an agile culture, state of the art practices, and related processes
• Use stakeholders’ feedback to inform necessary improvements and adjustments to technology
• Discover and implement new technologies that yield a competitive advantage
• Take the initiative in thought leadership, innovation, and creativity, based on global trends
• Work as a technical leader alongside customer business, development, and product teams
• Lead and assist with design & development of products; focusing on project delivery, maintainability, scalability, and high reusability of components
• Demonstrate technical leadership, by setting challenging but realistic goals, and guiding the team efforts toward successful project delivery
• Provide and share a broad knowledge of technologies and architectures, and function as a mentor within the scope of your product and domain
• Take leadership in enterprise architecture to integrate client products with CRM, CMS, and Quick Service Restaurants (QSR) platforms
• Facilitate conference calls with global teams at various hours of the mornings and evenings
• Delivering on the defined company and team OKRs
• Other roles and responsibilities defined by the executive team
Requirements & Skills
• 15+ years of industry experience, and at least 5+ years of in leadership roles
• Proven success in managing and launching products
• Proven track record of working with designers, engineers, and various stakeholders; to coordinate, plan, execute, and track product releases from beginning to end
• Strong knowledge of web or mobile development platforms, databases, and infrastructure
• Strong knowledge of cloud-native applications on AWS or Azure platform utilizing core developer services like APIGateway, Lambda, SQS, Dynamo, ECS to name a few (hands on experience is preferred)
• Strong knowledge of project management tools, including source code management tools
• Good exposure to agile software development and DevOps practices such as infrastructure as code, continuous integration, and automated deployment
• Proficient understanding of source code control, build process management, continuous integration, automated testing, and other development processes
• Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to think outside the box and roll up one’s sleeves to get the job done
• Superior organizational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines in an environment with competing priorities
• Ability to multi-task, work independently as well as part of a team, and demonstrate keen attention to details
• Working experience with remote teams, driving collaboration internally as well as with other verticals, and is congenial and approachable
• Strong affinity for measurement & analytics
• An obsessive and compulsive auditor with great attention to detail
• Great english business conversational skills in dealing with teammates and clients directly
• Academic background and extensive experience in software development and leadership
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Computer Science
• Experience working directly with US-based teams and clients
• Project Management or Product Management certifications are a plus
• Scrum or Agile certifications are a plus
