The  Personal Finance Specialist will establish new client relationships in addition to providing advisory services and support to a select group of clients by reviewing clients’ needs, goals, and objectives and formulating recommendations. With financial planning responsibility for the firm’s small to mid-size clients, the  Personal Finance Specialist has the opportunity to build an excellent business under the leadership and reputation of the organization.


Periodic Duties and Responsibilities;

Be available for other projects as needed

Cross-train with other coworkers in order to backup responsibilities as needed


Supervisory Responsibilities;

This position has no supervisory duties at this time.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Schedule, organize, and confirm appointments, meetings, and phone calls with current and prospective clients

Ensure all business conducted complies with the laws and regulations set forth as well as ensure policies/procedures are followed in a responsible manner

Consult with current and prospective clients regarding financial planning and other financial services offered by the company

Establish internal relationships to help maintain business flow and meet agreed targets

Research suggested solutions to support recommendations

Analyze client portfolios and budgets to discuss recommendations with clients and make updates as appropriate as well as prepare cash flow analysis

Promote the organization by developing relationships within the industry and community

Participate in ongoing professional development to meet personal development needs

Manage the preparation of client financial plans and suitability reports

Ability to follow verbal and written communications.

Ability to communicate effectively with clients, prospects, the public, and co-workers in a professional and courteous manner as well as maintain confidentiality.

Ability to express ideas clearly both in written and oral communications.

Ability to self-motivate and work independently.

Ability to get ideas accepted and to guide a group or individual to accomplish a task.

Ability to travel locally within a specific geographic area; limited travel outside a specific geographic area (some overnight travel).

Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities (time management).

Ability to work well under pressure.

Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to clients and other employees of the organization.

Language Ability: Ability to read and interpret documents such as rules, instructions, and manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Mathematical Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.


Education/Experience

 Personal Finance Specialist Job Need Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Financial planning and/or investment advisory experience preferred.


Certificates and Licenses

 Personal Finance Specialist Need FINRA Series 7 & Series 66 preferred.

Iowa Life & Health license preferred.

Pay: $48,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
