We are recruiting for our next intake of Claims professionals to join us working in Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane. Joining us as a Claims Officer, this is your opportunity to kick start your career in Claims where you will be supporting our customers at their most vulnerable time.


Upon commencing you will start with a group of new workmates where your first few months will be spent in training learning more about our products, processes and systems. Working within our Hybrid model, you will then move into your new team where you’ll be supported by your Lead and SMEs in the business as you begin to pick up a portfolio of entry level claims.


Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

•  Apply product & policy information, calculate financials and manage admin in relation to case load;

•  Manage claims within SLAs, ensuring our customers get the support they need during the life of their claim;

•  Collaborate with our Consultants and Quality Assessors to improve the outcomes for our customers;

•  Ensure every interaction is conducted with empathy and respect;

•  Contribute to system and process improvements; and

•  Maintain our risk and compliance measures.


About You:

•  1-2 years’ experience working in a customer service environment;

•  Studying or has completed an Allied Health or relevant tertiary qualification (business, law, accounting); preferred;

•  Strong written and verbal communication skills;

•  Ability to establish rapport and build meaningful relationships;

•  Experience working in a highly collaborative environment; and

•  Resilient and outcomes focussed.

We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Strata Loss Adjuster to join the team based in Melbourne. Reporting to the National Strata Loss Adjusting Manager , this role will see you use your skills to resolve insurance claims, examine reported insurance losses to establish the cause, liability and quantum and have the customer and client at the centre of everything you do


Your responsibilities will include:

•  Using digital technologies, you will assess claims virtually ‘from the desk’ as the predominant method

•  Follow Sedgwick’s policies and procedures to manage a portfolio of claims from first advice to settlement

•  Determine extent and cause of loss via the most effective, efficient and client and customer-focused method of investigation

•  Determine whether the loss falls within the terms and conditions of the insurance policy

•  Deliver loss adjusting services that meet or exceed the service standards required by the client

•  Proactive communication with the client and customer about initial findings and potential solutions

•  Calculate the cost of repair and/or replacement (reserve)

•  Review scope of work and schedules of loss to ensure applicability


Ideally, you will possess:

•  Completed Diploma of Loss Adjusting

• Have served as a practicing Loss Adjuster for 5+ years or more

•  Intermediate Microsoft office skills

•  Industry leading knowledge of the insurance industry (claims lifecycle) including the legislative framework, applicable codes and products

•  Demonstrates the application of our Caring Counts philosophy and core values

•  Ability to embrace existing and emerging technology

•  Puts the customer and client at the centre of service delivery
